Synopsis Spencer Smythe sends his Spider-Slayer Robot after Spidey for Norman Osborn on the promise that a successful capture will provide a special chair for his crippled son; The robot accidentally captures Flash Thompson who has dressed up as Spidey during a dinner party to impress Felicia Hardy; Reporter Eddie Brock witnesses the capture and provides a pic and a scoop for Jonah; Spidey has to rescue Flash from Osborn and company but the elder Smythe is killed in the battle; When the dust clears, Eddie is fired by Jonah for providing a faulty story; Kingpin steps in to mentor the orphaned Alistaire.
