| Synopsis |
With Jean totally under the control of the Dark Phoenix, the X-Men try to take her down but find that she is too powerful; Dark Phoenix takes off for the stars and destroys the lifeless D'Bari star system and her actions are witnessed by a Shi'ar starship; Pheonix returns to earth and visits the home of Jean's parents where the X-Men catch up with her again; After Xavier wages a pitched battle with Dark Phoenix on the psychic plane, the alien entity is contained and Jean is restored to her friends; The joy is cut short, however, as Lilandra and the Shi'ar Imperial Guard show up and proclaim that Jean and the Phoenix must be destroyed. |
