Synopsis During this issue, Batman narrate with his file on Batgirl. In a bar, Batman and Batgirl investigate a boat that left several crew man short. They find out that the boat is carrying kidnapped Gothamites to be sold as slaves in the Middle East. Meanwhile, the victims have rigged the boat to explode unless they're released, but the bomb goes off by accident. The crew escapes as Batman & Batgirl arrive. They rush to save them, but Batgirl intentionally gets herself trapped. Batman tells her she must chose to save herself, and commit to living in order to work with him. She makes it to safety at the last moment.

They keep them under constant surveillance, so when they stop, the Lyman brothers make their move. But it was Batman impersonating one of the brothers, and the other one leads them right to the shipment.
