Synopsis An aging and tired Count Trocero is returning to his home in Poitain, and suffers from disturbing dreams from his past. King Conan, believing his eldest son, Conn, dead, grows restless in his role as king, and Zenobia fears he may leave Tarantia soon. Prospero tests new recruits who wish to become Black Dragon legionnaires. Taurus finds a love note sent from Leonidas to Radegund. Once home, Trocero is reunited with his aged father, who can no longer remember his son, and with Amanda, the woman he fell in love with many years ago.

Synopsis Prince Conn, disillusioned with his father after meeting his half-brother, Kang Sho, decides to settle in Paikang. He marries Li-Tan, the Khitai maiden he rescued, and suffers from dreams about his father's unfaithfulness to Zenobia with Kang Lou-Dze, who later gave birth to Kang Sho. With war looming, the villagers are forced to flee Paikang. Conn has dream sequence conversations with both his mother and father, and later decides to join with other Paikang warriors to fight in the upcoming war.
