The March 1, 1939 cover features a classic giant green skeleton, the April 1 cover features an unmasked Shadow, and the May 1 cover features female swimmers and a skeletal clown. The six bound copies in this volume contain tear and crease free, "newsstand-fresh" covers that retain their original brightness. The page quality on all is creamy and supple with tanning and slightly brittle edges. Due to the binding process, the interior magazines have been trimmed, and the top layer of the spines were removed and are hidden by the hardcover's spine, which has a gold inlay that denotes the title, volume number, and issue dates.
