    An icon of 1950s Americana, Howdy Doody was a star of early television, and a mischievous Tom Sawyer-type adventurer in this comic. Howdy and Dilly get chased by miniature Keystone Kops and an angry bull before escaping in a farmhouse attached to a hot-air balloon. You can't make this stuff up. A mad scientist tries out his shrinking formula on Howdy, and now he and Dilly must stop him from using it on the city.
