Dell's classic funny-animal series included early work by former Disney animator Walt Kelly, creator of beloved comic strip Pogo. In an early Pogo story by Kelly, Pogo tries to get Albert the Alligator to stop smoking cigars. Owl and Churchy convince him the best way to do that is by disguising himself as Strawberry Shortcut, De Baton Rouge Bombshell. In another Kelly story, Pogo puts a balloon into Albert's mouth while he's sleeping.
