    #27 "Tom Mix Fights His Way Free." Text with illustrations. 2-3/8 in. x 2-3/4 in.; black and white; 8 pages. Promotional Tom Mix comic booklet distributed as a premium in 1934 by the National Chicle Company. These booklets were issued in a wrapper with a piece of gum and are rare in any condition.

    Tailspin Tommy in "The Smuggler's Last Flight" is story #1 of what was supposed to be a series of 30 Tailspin Tommy Adventures sold only with Big Thrill Chewing Gum as an insert. However, only 6 stories were actually printed. 8 pages with 3 pages in color and 5 in black and white, 2-7/8-in. x 2-3/8-in. Copyrighted in 1934 by Stephen Slesinger, Inc. and the Goudy Gum Co., Boston. (See also Buck Jones, Buck Rogers and Dick Tracy.)
