The widow tells MACH-1 and Songbird about an early battle fought between the second roster of avengers (Captain America, Hawkeye, Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch) and the Radioactive Man. A fight in which Clint, Pietro, and Wanda showed that they could leave their criminal pasts behind and become heroes! Why is Natasha telling this tale to the former Beetle and ex-grappler? Is time running out on the Thunderbolts' ruse? Cameo appearances by Citizen V and Techno. (Notes: The credits for the Avengers flashback story: Roger Stern (script), Ron Frenz (pencils), Will Blyberg (inks), and Al Milgrom (inks). This issue includes a special one-page parody advertisement featuring the Thunderbolts and Tastee Fruit Pies with script by Jim Smith and Mike Smith and art by James Fry and Arne Starr. This issue features a gatefold cover. During this timeframe the Thunderbolts guest-star in Heroes for Hire (1st series) #7.) 32 pages. Cover price $1.99.
