Selling Large Bulk Lots, Overstocks, Close-outs
For more than 20 years, Lone Star Comics, mycomicshop.com's parent company, has been buying out store stocks, warehouse stocks, and overstocks as well as very large complete collections. Please call (817) 860-7827 (Monday through Friday 9AM to 6PM Central Time) if you have any such large stock you wish to sell.
What we'll buy
We pay cash and will travel to inspect any promising lot with a very good mix of pre-1980 comics.
If your lot consists of 1980 to current issues, we will consider purchasing if:
- You can deliver your comics lot to us.
- Or you are within 100 miles of the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area so that it is possible for us to pick up your comics and related collectibles.
- Or you are prepared to ship your collection to us once a price is agreed upon.
To offer a large bulk lot
- Send us a general description of what you have (via email, preferably with the list as a Word attachment).
- Confirm that all copies offered are NM to mint/like new.
- List total number of comics offered.
- State your asking price for the complete lot.
- Include your name, address and phone number.
If, after reviewing your list, we agree upon a price, we will pay that price plus half of the shipping cost.
PLEASE NOTE: Most comic collections contain some titles for which there is little demand and a consequent oversupply. We recommend that you not offer such titles as we, like other buyers, have no use for them. Slow or dead titles are better suited to garage sales, flea markets, or you might give them to charity. By including such titles in your list, you will only drag down what we can pay per long box and likewise needlessly increase your shipping costs.
Finally, you'll need to be realistic in your expectations when offering, for example, 15 long boxes of 1980 to current comics. While you'll find that we can offer more than your local comics store in just about every case, you'll likewise find that bulk selling works only for those willing to sell at a pretty deep discount. Still, many sellers prefer the convenience of a quick and easy single bulk sale to the hundreds of hours required to sell single items and small lots via comic shows and auctions.
