Selling Pre-1981 Comics

This option is most often selected by individuals wishing to sell complete lots of pre-1981 comics. As always, mycomicshop.com is ready to buy ALL your pre-1981 comics. And unlike some buyers, we don't cherry pick--we'll buy EVERYTHING, any comic, any condition!

We recommend that you contact us by phone or e-mail (see below) before sending your pre-1981 comics (please give your name, address, and phone number). However, you can ship your comics immediately if you wish (see below). As always, we are glad to answer any questions you might have about how we grade, our reputation and reliability, provide safe shipping tips, and the like.

We buy thousands of comic lots every year so we know how to make the selling process easy for you. You don't even have to send us a list of your comics. If you do wish to sent a list, either in advance or with your comics, all you need to list is title and issue number. And no, your comics don't need to be bagged.

Please keep in mind that mycomicshop.com cannot make you a firm offer for your comics until we've had an opportunity to see and grade them. A 1957 showroom-new car is valued very differently than one rusting in a field. The same is true for a comic in mint or poor condition. Comics newer than 1970, for example, typically have little value if they are clearly used copies (Very Good to Poor grade range) and small; quantities of used comics, no matter their age, are usually not worth the cost of shipping. Comics older than 1981 in new or very nearly new condition, on the other hand, almost always have some value, and depending on age, type and other factors, can be worth a considerable amount.

As already stated, we will buy any comic published before 1981. However, potential sellers should keep the following in mind: 1) 1970s comics in grades lower than FN often have limited value; and 2) Not all comics have value, regardless of age. This is especially true of titles where little collector demand exists. Small lots of damaged comics may not be worth the shipping cost. Please inquire if you are uncertain.

We cannot determine the final value of your comics until they are graded, and we cannot grade your comics until we see them. Upon receipt of your comics, we will fairly and accurately grade each comic, then promptly make you an offer for the whole lot. We won't offer to buy just the best of the lot and return the rest. The whole grading process takes only a few days at most. You will then receive a firm offer based on actual grades.

If you accept our offer/grading results, we will immediately pay you for your comics, plus pay your original shipping cost. If you are not pleased with our offer/grading, we will immediately return your comics to you at our expense, well-packed and insured against loss or damage.

When sending your comics, please include a sheet with your name, address, phone number and e-mail address (if available). If shipping more than one carton, please mark each box as per the following example: 1 of 3, 2 of 3, 3 of 3, and write on the box containing your paperwork/invoice, "Invoice Enclosed." To prevent possible confusion, we do not open any boxes until we are sure all have arrived.

The address to ship your comics to is:
