Synopsis As Gambit tries to protect Xavier from a pack of assassins, he is surprised to get a helping hand from Sebastian Shaw whose father, as it turns out, also worked with Brian Xavier, Kurt Marko and Nathan Milbury back in the day; With a battle raging around him, Xavier takes a mind trip back to his childhood and realizes that, not only was Dr. Milbury really Mr. Sinister all along, but as a boy, Xavier was also experimented on by Sinister and implanted with the evil scientist's genetic code; Xavier is captured and taken to the desert research complex where he is confronted by another old colleague of his father's, the long lived Dr. Mueller who has warped and wrinkled with age; He learns that when Sinister died, the hidden genetic code implanted in a few research subjects became active and is striving for dominance in a new host; Mueller doesn't want Xavier to become Sinister, however, as she has discovered a way to take Sinister's power without assuming his personality; Xavier finds himself on the horns of the ultimate dillema as the only way it seems he can defeat Dr. Mueller is by accepting the genetic code implanted in him by Dr. Milbury and, thus, becoming Mr. Sinister; And by the time Gambit and Shaw make it to the complex, they are confronted with the results of that decision.
