Synopsis The Time Trapper plucks Superboy-Prime from the timestream and sends him to 31st century Smallville and the Superman Museum. Meanwhile in Metropolis, the Legion founders appeal to the United Planets Council for unity in the aftermath of Earth-Man's war on non-Terrans, but they refuse to listen until R. J. Brande makes an appearance. Elsewhere, Phantom Girl, Lightning Lass, and Shadow Lass retrieve Mon-El from the Phantom Zone, while Polar Boy tries to bring Sun Boy back into the fold. Having learned of the existence of the Legion of Super-Villains, Superboy-Prime heads to Takron Galtos to free them and enlist them as allies. Back on Earth, Leland McCauley shoots and kills R. J. Brande, who reverts to his original Durlan form in front of the United Planets Council. The Legion calls Superman to help them in this crisis, but before he arrives, Superboy-Prime burns a Superman shield across Takron Galtos. As Superman vows to redeem Superboy-Prime, Brainiac 5 makes plans to take on Superboy-Prime and his army of villains which include first of all bringing in two reinforcement Legions from alternate universes.
