Synopsis Flying over Southeast Asia, the Challengers hunt a carnival scammer named Manfredo. Flaming out, the Challengers land on a beach. Ace and June work on the engine. Prof, Red, and Rocky explore and board a Chinese junk laid with a feast. They’re swarmed by Banjuk tribespeople in canoes. They violated the Feast of Sanjook (a Buddha-looking god), so must die at dawn! Prof recalls a right to Trial by Combat. Granted. Rocky wrestles a crocodiles that soon runs scared by a red dye in the water. Plant juice like a natural shark repellent? Red races up a mountain against a man on a moa-like bird. The bird-rider is knocked off the mountain by a jet of water. Red rescues him, then discovers someone dammed a stream. Who? Meanwhile, Ace and June track Manfredo, but find evidence he was mauled by a tiger and washed out to sea. They move on. Prof has issued his own challenge to make the village shaman disappear! He yells Pig Latin, “Adgray the odybay!” Rocky and Red grab the guy and hide him. Freed, the Challengers rejoin Ace and June, who confess they DIDN’T help their friends win! Who did? Ah, Manfredo, who wants the Challengers alive to report his (faked) death. The heroes track Manfredo to a valley of weird giant statues. The villain throws a grenade, toppling giant arms. But Ace tracks Manfredo through a statue’s eye and nabs him. Next Manfredo can “try his carnival magic on prison bars.”

12 page Challengers of the Unknown story "Multi-Man, Master of the Earth"

Characters Ace Morgan; Red Ryan; Prof Haley; Rocky Davis; (Challengers of the Unknown); June Robbins; Owapu natives; Multi-Man and his gang.
Synopsis Multi-Man has again broken jail, and the Challengers hunt him. He’s on Owapu Island in the Pacific. He’s whipped up Liquid Light as pills. They’ll be fantastically rich. He turns into an energy being and blasts a volcano. Flying, the Challengers see the blast and land. When they try to grab MM, he changes into a floating moon-man. MM commands the natives to grab Ace and Rocky. Ace throws down a torch for a wall of fire, but MM turns sponge-man and squirts it out. MM boasts of an “energy amplifier” and blasts a crater on the Moon! He can destroy the Earth! Red and June get the drop on native guards and free their friends. MM takes off in energy form. Prof pursues in a helicopter, which MM blasts. But Prof dives with a parachute and splashes MM with Liquid Light antidote. MM crashes into a mountain. He’s alive but with amnesia, and no longer a threat. Prof regrets that, with his genius, MM could have done great good.
