Synopsis A black jaguar terrorizes the Matto Grosso. Rocky joins a hunt but tells Timbu to remain on the homestead with Gerry and Lassie. Timbu feels slighted. He fashions a spear and sneaks off. Lassie follows to keep her eye on him. The cat ambushes the hunting party. When Rocky's gun jams, Lassie distracts the jaguar as Timbu steps forward to slay the animal with his homemade spear.

Synopsis At Cuzco, Lassie discovers an ancient artifact in the marketplace which prompts Rocky and Gerry to join Senhor Vega in the search for a lost city of the Incas. Lassie and Timbu remain in camp while their friends follow a narrowing trail that leads them into an ancient Incan pit. They are trapped. The next morning, Timbu and Lassie set off from camp to search for their friends. Lassie discovers the lost city high in the mountains and a secret door leading into the pit. Her friends are freed.

Synopsis Don Sodero claims he has centuries-old documents proving a piece of land is his and drives homesteaders off the property. The homesteaders contact the authorities in Rio to verify their claim to the land. Lassie heads downriver to meet the mail boat and returns to camp with the important letter. Don Sodero still opposes the homesteaders but is defeated after a tense battle. Rocky discovers oil in a nearby lake and then understands why Sodero was so intent on claiming the land.
