Synopsis The Beyonder arrives on earth and crashes with Molecule Man and Volcana as they try to figure out what he wants; Realizing that he desires knowledge and experience, they send him to California to get both; Professor X senses the Beyonder on earth and sends out a distress call to all heroes; Cap, Iron Man, the X-Men and the New Mutants descend on L.A.; Meanwhile, the Beyonder has met a disgruntled television scriptwriter and gives him awesome powers which he promptly uses to start destroying a society he despises; The heroes arrive and mistake Thundersword for the Beyonder and begin to battle him; Rachel Summers, however, senses the Beyonder's true presence standing nearby and he appears in the form of the Molecule Man; He causes Magik to become Darkchilde and the New Mutants teleport to Limbo; Lila Cheney also teleports the X-Men out as she senses danger from the Beyonder; Thundersword loses his powers and starts making excuses to Cap and Iron Man; The Beyonder makes himself invisible and follows Cap as he exits stage right.
