Synopsis In the 20th century, Clark Kent is taken by the trio of founding Legionnaires. In the 31st century, the Legionnaires are preparing for the inaugural Foundation Day, celebrating the founding of the Legion. As Spark visits Element Lad's memorial, Kid Quantum addresses a crowd on Legion World which includes the first class of the Legion Cadet Program. Later, when Saturn Girl and Cosmic Boy are giving these recruits a tour of Legion World, Cosmic Boy is called away for a mission because his own homeworld is threatened. He joins other Legionnaires already there who are trying to deal with a decaying stargate and finds that President Wazzo is also nearby. While Kid Quantum, Brainiac 5, and Cosmic Boy shut down the stargate properly, Apparition finds out why her mother is in this sector of space and discovers that President Wazzo has recovered Superboy. Meanwhile, back on Legion World, Spark accompanies to the Foundation Day ceremonies her brother Mekt, who recalls his troubled history with his siblings. Elsewhere on Legion World, Saturn Girl relates the sad fate of Element Lad to the cadets. After Cosmic Boy returns to Legion World, he and Saturn Girl come face to face with the figure of Element Lad, who tells them that he is actually Livewire. While they try to deal with this shock, Clark Kent discovers that he has been taken by imposters to Apokalips.
