22 page Green Hornet story "The New Green Hornet"

Characters Paul Reid [Green Hornet IV]; Britt Reid II; Angela Devane (villain); David Devane (villain); Lenore C. Reid; Danny Reid; Dr. Thompson (introduction); Diana Reid; Desmaines, a Devane thug; Hayashi Kato; Kato III [Mishi Kato]
Synopsis Continued from last issue: Britt II and Paul Reid arrive at the burning Reid mansion, where Paul manages to get Diana out. A few days later, the young man, wearing Alan's Hornet costume, drives the new Black Beauty to the ruins, where he salvages a scrapbook, Britt I's memoirs, and the painting of "The Masked Rider of the Plains" then drives to Reid Tower [It was Paul at this point in time, not Alan, who was seen in the opening pages of NOW's Green Hornet Vol. 1 (1989 series) #2]. The Devane siblings discuss the events, David saying he wants revenge on Britt II for his having "killed Dad." Diana regains consciousness in her sick bed in the Tower and is told her father did not survive (that she has is kept secret). She attempts to confess having inadvertently tipped Angela that the Reids were the Hornets, but Britt had already figured that out. Paul, still wearing Alan's outfit, walks in. He and Britt go to another room, where Paul improvises his own Hornet costume, at which point six-year-old Danny walks in and learns the family secret. Paul takes the new Black Beauty and new Hornet Sting--an electronic stun gun--out to "hit" a Devane operation. Unfortunately, the neophyte Hornet is soon cornered, but a new "Kato"--Mishi--appears. Notes This story's title incorporates the series logo; the man named Desmaines in this story is a typical mob underling, and does not seem to be the same character as the ex-CIA agent/professional assassin of that name in #3.
Reprinted in "Green Hornet, The" (hardback book), NOW Comics & Bonus Books, 1990.
