The book unfolds out into several detailed maps of Europe, the Mediterranean, North Africa, the Pacific Ocean, and the Aleutian Islands (a chain of islands extending in a westward arc from Alaska). Wimpy is mad at Pappy because he ordered food and then left Wimpy with the bill. Popeye takes Pappy to a party, but he makes a shambles of it. Popeye takes Pappy to another party. Pappy tricks the hostess into sitting on a tack. Pappy takes a mermaid to a dance, but Pooky Jones has to carry her and do the dancing. Popeye invents a machine to put a diaper on Swee'pea. Popeye improves his invention so that it gives babies a bath before putting on their diaper. Swee'pea is upset when he doesn't win a prize in the baby contest.
