"My Resolutions by Buster Brown," by R.F. Outcault. This is not an actual comic book, but a compilation of the Resolutions panels found at the end of Outcault's Buster Brown newspaper strips. 68 pages, 4" x 7", cardboard covers. Overstreet says this was published in 1907, but the correct copyright of the book is September, 1906.

Buster Brown Muslin Plays Cowboy (1907 Muslin Edition). Comics printed on fabric are uncommon indeed. But here's an interesting example from the dawn of comics publishing. Published by the Saalfield Publishing Co. Full color, 6-in. x 6.5-in., 12 pages counting covers. Copyright 1905 by the New York Herald Co, and 1907 by Cupples and Leon. Co.

Cartooning, It's Easy (1907) is a brochure from the Correspondence Institute of America, Scranton, PA. Every page is adorned with a cartoon illustration, the majority drawn by Charles C. Swisher, whom the brochure states was the art director of the Institute at the time. Also includes one panel by Carl "Bunny" Schultze, the creator of "Foxy Grandpa," and one panel by sequential art pioneer F. M. Howarth. Mention is made in the text of famous cartoonist Eugene "Zim" Zimmerman, although no illustrations of his are featured. The text of the brochure encourages readers to enroll in the Institute. 16 pages, black and white interior, 6 in. x 9 in.

Cover is not by Winsor McKay. Music written by Al Gumble, lyrics by Dave Clark. It's assumed that the song was written to cash in on the Teddy Bear craze and the popularity of Little Nemo. To profit still further, the sheet music states that the song was "Successfully interpolated in The Wizard of Oz". No contemporary Wizard of Oz program has been found that confirms that this song was ever performed. So it is unknown what character sang it or where it was used in the show - assuming it was in fact an actual interpolation. An excerpt of the lyrics: But Nemo had a bad dream / And he woke up with a start / Dreamed his teddy bear had grown up / And was pulling him apart! / Now doggie gets the nice things / And his bear is laid away. 10 3/4-in. x 13 3/4-in., 6 total pages, B&W.
