This issue reprinted stories from the comic strip that introduced the world to Popeye the Sailor. Collects Thimble Theatre daily strips from April 5 to Aug. 28, 1937. This issue features "A Sock for Susan's Sake - Just a Simple Story of Life," a Depression-era story with a focus on drama instead of the usual antics, as Popeye tries to save Susan Brown and her family from a life of poverty. 9-in. x 12-in., 76 pages, B&W.
