This early superhero title was one of the comics that made publisher Lev Gleason a major player during the Golden Age. Daredevil and the Little Wise Guys star in a topical story of alcoholism, child neglect and murder (that also features Daredevil acting as a defense lawyer in court, in full costume), with early art by Flash Gordon's Dan Barry. Daredevil and the Little Wise Guys encounter a juvenile delinquent (then a new concept) while at summer camp. Teen inventor Dickie Dean heads out West and encounters outlaws who are trying to swindle a rancher out of his uranium-rich land. Also featuring an illustrated profile of artist Charles Biro, and an early strip by future Marvel legend Chic Stone. The backup historical strip "Famous Eccentrics" includes the Marquis de Sade, a strange choice even for a pre-Code 1940s comic book.
