Susie and Sam at Rock City (no publication date given, circa 1950) is a promotional comic book (the 2nd in the Susie and Sam series) that was sold for 10c by Rock City Gardens, Chattanooga, Tennessee. Designed, written, and fully illustrated in comic book format by Chuck Thorndike (photo on inside back cover), a minor syndicated newspaper strip artist of the period who also created a number of how to draw books and several other promotional comics. NOTE: Comic artists, being comic artists, are the same in every era and are sometimes tempted to titilate, even in a publication intended for consumption by the younger set.
