Lawson Wood's calendars from Brown & Bigelow in the 1950s were custom printed for businesses as promotional tools. Lawson Wood (1878-1957) was a British illustrator of renown, working for Collier's, Punch, The Strand and The Illustrated London News. After World War II, Lawson Wood developed a following for his anthropomorphic paintings of chimpanzees, especially one ginger-colored chimp he named Gran'pop. This calendar features Gran'Pop and others in various humorous situations. Spiral-bound, vertical format. 8.5" x 14", 12 pages, full color.
