The monster-sized ape from the 1961 B-movie becomes the star of this popular Charlton monster comic that frequently featured work by future Spider-Man co-creator Steve Ditko. After an atomic explosion separates him from Bob and Sandra, Konga shrinks down to normal gorilla size and becomes leader of a colony of island apes. Then he gets his King Kong moment as he is put on exhibit, only to escape and run amuck when he hears Sandra's voice nearby.
