"Down into the Volcano!", script by Gerry Conway, pencils by John Buscema (layouts, breakdowns) and Alfredo Alcala (finished art), inks by Alfredo Alcala; Appears to be a thinly-disguised version of the Biblical story of Lot and Sodom and Gomorrah; "Gondora" is a semi-portmanteau of "Sodom" and "Gomorrah"; Other apparent parallels: "Tul" is the one kindly citizen of the city who offers Ka-Zar shelter, lust-stricken residents of the city try to force their way into the tavern after Tul's daughters and are struck down by Ka-Zar, the city is destroyed in a fiery conflagration, and Tul's wife is turned into a statue of ash by the heat when she is the only one to look behind as they flee. 36 pgs., full color. "The Gnome, the Queen and the Savage!", script by Doug Moench, art by Val Mayerik; Queen Tandylla/Tandy Snow gives Ka-Zar an ultimatum: either become her husband or die in the arena. Ka-Zar rejects her offer and ends up in the arena together with Zartros the Gnome. They kill a gladiator named Makrum and manage to escape. Zartros reveals that Tandy has been brainwashed into becoming queen, and Ka-Zar vows to return and free her. Meanwhile, the rest of Ka-Zar's friends have come across a city full of elderly people.
