    Loops, The (1980) 1

Local magazine-sized comic book illustrated by Thom Enriquez and produced by Rock Comix for Chicago's WLUP radio station with parodies of popular celebrities, musicians, bands, and WLUP DJ's. Stories in this issue: 1) "The Evil Juanita Brian"; 2) Ronald-Ray-Gun vs. Jimmy Carter!"; 3) "Steve Dahl vs. Discoman (Dahl was one of the FM 98 DJs); "The Rock Band from Mars" (isn't that where most of them come from?); plus other stories. Also in the issue: An exclusive Keith Richard portraid; a Loops profile of Sky Daniels, and a "dynamite centerfold" with lettering influenced by the Mad comics. Full color, 36-pages, slick cover with newsprint interior.

Thom Enriquez only had a small handful of comics credits, primarily in Twisted Tales #9 and #10, both of which were published in 1984. However, he had a much more extensive career doing animation and live-action storyboard/character design credits, including the creature designs for the live-action Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters 2. His film industry and comics credits started in 1982, so this Disco Demolition book represents some of his earliest published material.
