1992 Edition - 1st printing. Edited by Charles Brooks. The heroism of Desert Storm, the disintegration of a once-fearsome Soviet Union, a seemingly unending economic recession, the sinking fortunes of the Bush White House, and rising hopes on the Democratic campaign trail were among the issues that fueled the pens of editorial cartoonists during 1991. Other topics targeted by cartoonists included the Senate confirmation hearings of Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas, peace prospects in the Middle East, a check-bouncing U.S. Congress, Americaâ??s shaky financial institutions, the plight of the poor and the homeless, and the ever-growing menace of crime and drugs. All of these can be found here, weighed, measured, and commented upon by cartoonists representing every political persuasion--the liberal left, the conservative right, and virtually every shading in between. Some 345 editorial cartoons drawn by more than 180 of the leading cartoonists in the United States and Canada are presented in this Twentieth Anniversary volume. This year the front cover cartoon is provided by John Trever, of the Albuquerque Journal, and the back cover cartoon is by David Swann, of the Huntsville (Ala.) Times. Softcover, 8 1/2-in. x 11-in., 160 pages, B&W.

In this issue all the stops are out as the lovely and lethal Nikita goes it alone. Her mission? Lead a one woman assault on the Lamia Spire headquarters, to rescue her partner Milo being held captive there. Harlan Ceroke is alive and well, in a manner of speaking, and he and Lisa Rubric, the head of Lamia, are the ones holding Milo. They're not going to let him go without a fight...a fight to the death, if they have their way. Of course, since they're undead, and hate to lose, that means Nikita and Milo's death. The drug Ceroke injected in Nikita has instilled her with vampire traits, and now instead of spurning the instincts she despises, she's forced to embrace them in order to save her partner's life. The cost? Far more than she ever bargained for, but so little compared to Milo. Written by Clint McElroy. Art by Luciano Queiroz and Dan Schaeffer. Cover by Flint Henry and Bob Dvorak. B&W, 32 pg. Cover price $2.50.
