1st printing. The first superhero team from the Silver Age of comics, DC's Justice League has seen many iterations since its first appearance in 1960. This collection of new essays examines more than five decades of Justice League comics and related titles. Each essay considers a storyline or era of the franchise in its historical and social contexts. Exploring both the popular culture and relevant events of the day, the contributors discuss how the Vietnam War was addressed in Justice League comics, how the Cold War transformed the roles of superheroes in the DC universe and how the post-9/11 political climate affected a crossover character. Softcover, 6-in. x 9-in., 220 pages, Text. Cover price $19.99.

Jester's League of America (1967 Topps) Justice League Parody 1
    • This is a consignment item. A 3% buyer's premium ($8.12) will be charged at checkout. It has been graded by MyComicShop's experienced graders.

Krazy Little Comics (1967 Topps): Jester's League of America is one of sixteen parody mini-comics originally produced as test market items in 1967, by the Topps Chewing Gum Company. They did not see full national distribution. All were written by Roy Thomas and feature Wally Wood cover and interior art. These minis spoof not only Marvel and DC super-heroes, but other comic characters as well, like the Phantom, Prince Valiant, and Tarzan. These possibly predate, or are at least contemporaneous with, Not Brand Ecch! #1 (08/1967), and are among the rarest of the Merry Marvel Marching Society era items. Full color, 2.5-in. x 3.5-in., no cover price.
