WRITTEN BY BRIAN AZARELLO; ART BY EDUARDO RISSO; PAINTED COVER BY DAVE JOHNSON. The writer-artist team behind the acclaimed JONNY DOUBLE returns with a gripping new ongoing series, featuring painted covers by artist Dave Johnson ("The Justice Society Returns!"). Everyone talks about "getting away with murder," but what would you do if you were given irrefutable proof of the identity of the one that "done you wrong," the opportunity to kill them and the means to get away with it, scot-free? When former gangbanger Dizzy Cordova meets the mysterious Agent Graves, she is given the opportunity of a lifetime in the form of an attache case containing the proof, the gun, and the carte blanche immunity to exact revenge for the drive-by shootings that killed her family. Now she faces the hardest decision of her life in the form of a question that has no easy answer: If you could get away with murder, and your victim truly deserved it, what would you do? Produced by the Automotive Safety Foundation in cooperation with the President's Committee for Traffic Safety. By the early 1960s, the average yearly death toll due to traffic accidents was about 38 million -- in 1962, the fatality toll reached a record of 41,000! We believe this comic was made sometime during 1962-1963, as the Kennedy administration is referenced, but not Johnson's. There's also a possibility that it was released around the time of President Johnson's approval of Public Law 88-515 (which codified certain car safety standards) on August 30, 1964. B&W, 16 pages, standard paper stock.

Wondercon Exclusive cover by Megan Hutchison. Written by Rafer Roberts. Art by David LaFuente. GET SMASHED…OR BE SMASHED! Valiant's (somewhat) dynamic duo are going 'IN THE BAG' for AN ALL-NEW ONGOING SERIES! Meet Armstrong: Since the ancient city of Ur, this immortal adventurer has spent the last 7,000 years drinking and carousing his way through history alongside some of the greatest merrymakers the world has ever known. Meet Archer: A sheltered teenage martial arts master and expert marksman that was raised for a single purpose - to kill the devil incarnate. Little did he know that this undying evil was actually Armstrong (he's actually a pretty good guy…once you get to know him) and, since hitting the road together, the two have become great friends and even better partners. Now: Archer is about to set off on his most dangerous mission yet - a quest into the mystic reaches of Armstrong's bottomless satchel to liberate his friend and comrade from the clutches of the mad god Bacchus! (Okay, so, Armstrong went into the satchel himself to get a bottle of whiskey that he kinda misplaced and got stuck. It's like the Amazon warehouse of arcane treasures in there…and he doesn't exactly have a maid service.) Imprisoned in Armstrong's satchel for centuries, Bacchus now commands a legion of monsters, goblins and golems bent on escaping back into the world of man and enacting revenge on their captor… Can Archer single-handedly combat the godly embodiment of intoxication himself - and rescue his best buddy - without becoming lost amongst Armstrong's endless repository of bizarre artifacts and historical oddities in the process? 32 pages, full color. 1st printing. By Tim Lane. Abandoned Cars is Tim Lane's first collection of graphic short stories, noir-ish narratives that are united by their exploration of the great American mythological drama by way of the desperate and haunted characters that populate its pages. Lane's characters exist on the margins of society-alienated, floating in the void between hope and despair, confused but introspective. Some of them are experiencing the aftermath of an existential car crash-those surreal moments after a car accident, when time slows down and you're trying to determine what just happened and how badly you're hurt. Others have gone off the deep end, or were never anywhere but the deep end. Some are ridiculous, others dignified in their efforts to struggle to make sense of, and cope with, the absurdities, outrages, ghosts, and poisons in their lives. The writing is straightforward, the stories mainstream but told in a pulpy idiom with an existential edge, often in the first person, reminiscent of David Goodis's or Jim Thompson's prose or of films like Pick-Up on South Street or Out of the Past. Visually, Lane's drawing is in a realistic mode, reminiscent of Charles Burns, that heightens the tension in stories that veer between naturalism on the one hand and the comical, nightmarish, and hallucinatory on the other. Here, American culture is a thrift store and the characters are thrift store junkies living among the clutter. It's an America depicted as a subdued and haunted Coney Island, made up of lost characters-boozing, brawling, haplessly shooting themselves in the face, and hopping freight trains in search of Elvis.
