This item is not in stock at MyComicShop. If you use the "Add to want list" tab to add this issue to your want list, we will email you when it becomes available.

If you think the city's tough on the nerves now, take a look into the far future! Mutants and punks roam throughout the night, scavenging for survival, nibbling away at society's roots. And, from high above, the Technocrats - the ruling class - look down upon them with immense disdain. In fact, they've come up with the perfect way to control society's 'other half.' They've created Electric Warriors - robotic policemen with a metallic knack for splitting skulls. In "Whole Nasty Night," the premiere issue of this new ongoing series, Doug Moench takes you on a riveting tour from the bloodstained concrete slabs of city streets to peaceful countryside, where a primal enclave of naturalists have found refuge from this urban nightmare...or have they? And on this night, something very unusual happens. One single Electric Warrior, a massive bulk of metal and circuitry, begins to FEEL. While carrying out his murderous nightly ritual, consciousness begins to vibrate within him and and sets in motion a series of events that will change the world. Electric Warrior - presented in deluxe format - is written by Doug Moench and illustrated by Jim Baikie. The cover is a special airbrush painting by Baikie. Cover price $1.50.

Variant cover by Avon. (W/A) Dean Motter. Welcome to the world of 2001 as envisioned in 1941. An experimental community built at the beginning of the electric age, Electropolis is characterized by skyscraper-sized Van Der Graaf generator towers and Strickfadden machines, as well as a distinctive modernist architectural style. From above, the city resembles nothing so much as the interior of an old radio or television. Machines as buildings...Electricity as commerce. Set against this backdrop, ELECTROPOLIS is a vintage murder mystery that goes to the heart of the power industry in this brave new world. ELECTROPOLIS is written and illustrated by DEAN MOTTER ( The Prisoner, Mister X, Terminal City) It picks up, one could say, where Mister X and Terminal City both intersect, and left off. ELECTROPOLIS continues his explorations in the unique retro-futuristic genre he created in these books. FC 32pp

Loosely based on Shakespeare's The Tempest, MGM's lavishly produced Forbidden Planet (1956) is a true sci-fi classic, influencing countless other works, including Star Trek and 2001: A Space Odyssey. Starring Leslie Nielson as Commander J.J. Adams and Anne Francis as the daughter of Dr. Morbius, the film made a star of Robby the Robot, who is featured on the cover of the first installment of this official comic book adaptation. The issue ends with the introduction of Altaira. She doesn't look much like Anne Francis, but the art as a whole is very nice. Script by David Campiti, with adaptation and painted art by Daerick Gross. Includes essay "A Beacon in the Galaxy" by Steve "Mr. Movie" Friedman. Cover price $2.50.
