"Out Of The Holocaust--a Hero!", script by Roy Thomas, pencils by Gene Colan, inks by Vince Colletta; 3rd app. of Captain Marvel; Continued from Marvel Super-Heroes #13; With the Sentry rampaging across the Cape, Captain Mar-Vell decides that the Sentry's rampage would jeopardize his mission to learn all he can about the human race, and suspects that the Sentry's revival is due to Yon-Rogg's tampering; As Captain Mar-Vell (whose name is believed to be "Captain Marvel" to those at the Cape) protects the base (and more specifically security officer Carol Danvers) from the Sentry's rampage, aboard the Kree ship above Earth, Una tries to free herself; Unable to do so, she settles for listening to the reports given by her robot, which is linked into the battle computers; While this is occurring, the landlord at the hotel Mar-Vell is staying at, suspicious that Mar-Vell may be a foreign spy, snoops around Mar-Vell's room for proof; Finding Mar-Vell's carrying case, he sets off a device inside. 36 pgs., full color. "From The Void Of Space Comes," script by Roy Thomas, pencils by Gene Colan, inks by Vince Colletta; Skrull emperor Dorrek VII has become aware of recent activity on Earth involving the Skrull's age old enemies the Kree, most notably the recent activation of the Kree Sentry; Seeking to find out the truth of the Kree's involvement on Earth, Dorrek calls the Super-Skrull back to the Skrull home world from his exile after his last defeat at the hands of the Fantastic Four; The Super-Skrull is ordered to find out what their enemies are up to, and kill Mar-Vell; The reward for success would be anything the Super-Skrull desired; Wanting to be married to the emperors daughter Anelle, the Super-Skrull accepts the mission and returns to Earth; There, Mar-Vell has just returned from his battle against the Sentry to find that his carrying bag has been stolen from his room. Suspecting the owner of the hotel, and fearing that tampering may have activated the self-destruct mechanism on it, Mar-Vell rushes out to find the hotel owner; The owner himself is on his way to the Cape with to turn over to the military there. 36 pgs., full color. "From the Ashes of Defeat!", script by Roy Thomas, pencils by Gene Colan and Roy Thomas (zip-a-tone effects), inks by Vince Colletta and Roy Thomas; Captain Marvel is now the prisoner of the Super-Skrull, who takes Mar-Vell aboard his ship in order to probe his mind and learn why the Kree are so interested in the planet Earth; In doing so he learns about Mar-Vell's mission and his recent battle against the Kree Sentry, his identity as Walter Lawson, and his carrying case with the self-destruct mechanism; Mar-Vell manages to break free and escape the Super-Skrull's ship and return to his own ship; There when Yon-Rogg refuses to grant Mar-Vell permission to go back to Earth and stop the Super-Skrull and save the Earth from nuclear holocaust, Mar-Vell petitions the Imperial Minister, who allows Mar-Vell to go back to Earth, more to get revenge on the Skrull who defeated him than to save Earth; Mar-Vell arrives just in time to see the Super-Skrull (disguised as Lawson) enter the Cape with the carrying case. The Mark of the Metazoid," script by Arnold Drake, pencils by Don Heck, inks by John Tartaglione; Aboard the Kree vessel over the Earth, Mar-Vell is put on trial by Yon-Rogg for being "Un-Kree" by allowing the Sub-Mariner to win a battle and prevent the people of Earth from being infected with bacteria (as seen last issue); However, after much consideration, Ronan decides to judge Mar-Vell based on his future actions in being able to carry out his mission; He orders Mar-Vell to kill Mr. Logan the one man who may hint at Mar-Vell's identity; Mar-Vell gets out of killing Logan by suggesting that killing Logan would attract unwanted attention and erasing his memory would be better; Ronan agrees and allows Mar-Vell to see things his own way; Back on Earth, Communist agents are plotting to capture Walter Lawson by sending their latest super-powered agent the Metazoid--a being mutated to have the metabolism of 50 men--to capture Lawson. "In the Path of Solam!", script by Arnold Drake, pencils by Don Heck, inks by John Tartaglione; While aboard the Kree ship, Mar-Vell is in a holographic training session which is cranked up to a high level by Yon-Rogg, hoping that Mar-Vell will die during the experience; However, Mar-Vell succeeds in beating the computer; After, Mar-Vell is ordered back to Earth, where his identity is almost exposed by Carol Danvers when she spots the Kree ship returning to Earth's orbit and "Lawson's" sudden appearance in the middle of the road; Later, in his guise of Lawson, Mar-Vell meets with Dr. Norman Lundquist who is displaying his Solar Amplification Light-Cannon; Examining the device, Mar-Vell realizes that the device has the potential of creating a solar energy creature (which Mar-Vell dubs "Solam"); However, when Mar-Vell decides to try and destroy the device, Yon-Rogg strikes Mar-Vell through his wrist communicator; When the device creates a Solam creature, it goes on a rampage and gets strong as it absorbs more solar energy; Changing into Captain Marvel, Mar-Vell pools the resources of the world's most powerful computers together to come up with a solution as to how to destroy Solam. "And Fear Shall Follow!", script by Arnold Drake, pencils by Don Heck, inks by Vince Colletta; When a trading vessel piloted by members of the Aakon race, they detect a Kree vessel in proximity to the planet Earth; As age old enemies of the Kree, the Aakon decide to land on the dark side of the moon to avoid detection; However, their effort proves too late and Yon-Rogg orders his men to attack the Aakon, in spite of Mar-Vell's warnings that it wouldn't be a good idea; During the battle on the Moon, Yon-Rogg is injured in combat, and Mar-Vell is forced to kill the Aakon leader in order to save his superior, and both parties flee the scene of the battle; Mar-Vell assumes temporary control of the Kree vessel while Yon-Rogg is injured, however he soon returns to Earth; On Earth, Mar-Vell decides to investigate the home of the late Walter Lawson to turn up clues about the man's past, partially for Carol Danvers, and partially for his own curiosity. When he finds a secret lab where something big and humanoid is being constructed, Mar-Vell is attacked by members of the Organization, who had commissioned Lawson to build a robot to be their perfect assassin for them. 36 pgs., full color.
