When the Phantom Stranger hears of a glowing pyramid that has appeared in the Sudan, the Stranger decides to fly there in a plane; There, he meets Lynn Berg who is flying there as well and she agrees to tag along with the Phantom Stranger; When they arrive in the Sudan, they are witness to a bombing in which the intended target is killed. Lynn is suddenly consumed by rage and attacks and murders the attackers before being transported away like the others; Traveling to the glowing pyramid, the Phantom Stranger learns that the leader of this operation is Tannarak, who survived his last encounter with the Stranger when he was saved by the "Gods of Hate", who sought to use him as a tool to gather followers. 36 pgs., full color. "Deadman's Bluff!", script by Arnold Drake, art by Mike Grell; When Lou Ubric, owner of Ubric Investment Corp. and secretly a crime boss, goes to see his Doctor, Dr. Zorn, Zorn uses his powers of manipulation to motivate his own agenda; Reviewing Ubric's patient tapes, he learns of his involvement in the murder of Boston Brand; Now knowing of the existence of Deadman, Zorn uses his mental powers to call Phantom Stranger; He records a conversation with the Stranger, and later edits the tape so, that the Stranger sounds as though he is confessing to the murder of Boston Brand; When Deadman arrives, he possesses Zorn and plays the tape; When the Stranger hears his own false confession, he tries to fight Zorn, but soon learns that Deadman is in control of Zorn's body; Deadman learns that the information about his murder came from Ubric originally, and so Deadman goes after him.
