Trained from birth by Tibetan monks to attain physical and mental perfection, Peter Cannon becomes Thunderbolt, one of Charlton's most significant contributions to the superhero genre. The Hooded One abducts Lori to lead Thunderbolt into a trap involving dinosaurs, lions and a giant ape. Superhero rock band the Sentinels manages to free Sarge Steel from the Mind-Bender's control, only to have Brute fall victim, in a story by legendary comics scribe Denny O'Neil (credited as Sergius O'Shaughnessy).
