He has served two terms as Vice-President of the Horror Writers of America and has also tought "Writing Thriller Fiction" for Columbia College. He currently serves as a story consultant for Miramax Pictures. Weinberg's thoughts on Cable: "More than anything else, Cable personifies one of the basic themes of the Marvel Universe: With great power comes great responsibility. If any statement defines a hero, that's it. Other writers who've chronicled his adventures have put him through pretty tough times. I plan to continue that tradition. I'm looking to keep Cable busy, using not only his mutant powers, but also his intelligence. He's been stretched to the limit in the past. I intend on pushing him further than he's ever been before.
