With Odin still missing the God of Mischief quickly vanquishes the Vizier; Outside of Avengers Mansion, Thor rescues a small child from an oncoming truck; Thor has decided to gather the Avengers to help him battle Loki and his oncoming army; When Thor goes back to Avengers Mansion, he finds it encased in a force field; Similarly, all of the superheroes around the country, as well as the Baxter Building, are encased in smaller force fields; Thor is summoned to the Pentagon where he and the Army are on alert to repel Loki's forces. Cameos by Spider-Man, the Hulk, Daredevil, the Silver Surfer, Hawkeye, the Vision, Iron Man, Doctor Strange, the Black Panther, Quicksilver, and Cyclops. 36 pgs., full color. $0.25. "One Life to Give!", script by Gerry Conway, pencils by John Buscema, inks by Joe Sinnott; The Absorbing Man, using the strength of Mjolnir, manages to beat down Thor; Elsewhere, Orrin accompanies Judith to get groceries; While she is inside, some thugs attack him, but he casually swats them all, but then is shocked by its implications; Thor gets up and attacks Absorbing Man again, then runs away; Absorbing Man follows him into a department store, where the Absorbing Man grabs Thor's hammer, trying to absorb the rest of its power; But when he goes to punch Thor, his arm collapses like cardboard, which it now is; It wasn't really Mjolnir, but a toy; The police keep Absorbing Man trapped inside a cardboard box, so he can't get out. He really can't punch his way out of a paper bag; When Thor gets back to the hospital, he finds Jane alive and OK, but Sif is gone. 36 pgs., full color.
