Blue Background. Revealed: the secrets of the X-Men's soldier siblings, Bishop and Shard! We all know that Bishop is the warrior from the future who traveled through time to fight alongside the X-Men. We also know that his sister, Shard, has done the same to join X-Factor--as a hologram. There are, however, many things we don't know: what was their life like as soldiers in the X.S.E.? Why did Bishop abandon the administrative post he worked so hard to attain? How did the feud between Bishop and Fitzroy begin? Why was there friction between Shard and her brother? How did Shard die--only to live again as a hologram? Writer John Ostrander fills in the gaps of these fan favorites in a 4-issue series set in the nightmarish future of the X-Men! Written by John Ostrander. Art by Chris Gardner and Terry Austin. 1st printing. Written by Tadashi Ikuta. Art by Namoi Kimura. At a time when the giant department stores and supermarkets dominated the Japanese retail industry, two businessmen, Toshifumi Suzuki and Hideo Shimizu, discovered a new type of small retail store flourishing in America - the Seven Eleven. Called a "convenience store," it was a concept new to the Japanese. Intrigued by this new idea and convinced that it would suceed in Japan as well, the two men put together a project team of fifteen members, all virtual novices to the retail trade, to bring this venture to their land. Staking his entire livelihood, young storeowner Kenji Yamamoto volunteers to convert his family-owned liquor store into the first Seven Eleven in Japan. The hardship of negotiations, the oil shock, the struggle to cope with inadequate space - all were met with resolve and innovation, culminating in what is now called the retail revolution! Softcover, 5-in. x 8-in., 200 pages, B&W. NOTE: These are Japanese manga-style GNs and are meant to be read right-to-left. Cover price $12.95.
