Limited Edition Portfolio with the first plate signed and numbered to 1,250 by Don Maitz. A Portfolio of Fantasy contains six full-color plates: The Ghostslayer 12 x 17.5, Warrior Wizard 12.75 x 16.5, Green Abductor 12.5 x 18.25, Stake-Out 12.5 x 18.25, Death of the Last Dragon 12.5 x 18.5, Ariosto 16 x 13.5 (the art is horizontal on this plate). The plates come in a 14 x 19 black folder with white art and lettering. For those who don't know who the artist is, you will probably instantly recognize the famous pirate character he created for Captain Morgans Spiced Rum. The husband of famous fantasy writer Janny Wurts, Don has provided amazing illustrations for novels (including Janny's), jigsaw puzzles, posters, calendars, screen savers, and a host of other merchandise, and Don has even worked as the conceptual artist for feature films like Jimmy Neutron Boy Genius.

Gaar Williams's cartoons could be seen in thirty-nine newspapers around the country. These prints are reproductions of cartoons that originally appeared in the Chicago Tribune newspaper from 1927-1934. The traditional animation process involves a multi-step process. Beginning with a pencil drawing that is then transferred to an acetate cel. The next step is to paint the reverse side of this cel in the official colors for the show. Finally this cel is placed in front of a hand painted background and photographed as a single frame of animation. Only a small portion of the pencils and cels created during the production of a show are complete and appropriate for presentation. Each item in the portfolio is unique and each portfolio is one-of-a-kind animation production art. Each of these three portfolios contains only original animation production artwork and is limited to a strict run of 850 copies. All portfolios come with a numbered, certificate of authenticity. Animation cels and pencils are 10" x 12" in size each set in a 12 3/4" x 15" cardboard envelope.
