The final appearance of Black Orchid until Blue Devil Annual #1 in 1984 leaves both the cast of the story and readers in the dark about the hero's true identity! In the aftermath of an attempted bank robbery perpetrated by Orchid impersonators, Ronne Kuhn (herself a Orchid impersonator, but a good one) gets to take a bit of the credit for saving the day as the real hero has once again mysteriously disappeared.
