You couldn't ask for a better pre-code romance title page! Aside from the classic 'clench' pose for our two lovebirds, we get spilled drinks, an overflowing ashtray, and notably seedy run-down surroundings all of which promise a level of lasciviousness that...doesn't really materialize in this mostly sweet story. Bill, a member of the idle rich, tires of his easy existence and takes a job at his uncle's factory where he meets Lillian who's from "another side of town". The two fall madly in love and secretly elope, but when Bill's mother finds out about the marriage she cuts him off and has him fired from the factory. Of course, that can't stop love and the couple build themselves a simple, but happy, paycheck to paycheck life. After a year, Bill's mother finally decides to pay them a visit only to discover, you guessed it, that they've had a child which forces her to finally accept the couple back into the family. Pencil and ink on six sheets of art board, each measuring ~12 1/4" x 20 3/4".
