Issue #1946D
Published 1946 by Greenberg Publishers. This item is not in stock at MyComicShop. If you use the "Add to want list" tab to add this issue to your want list, we will email you when it becomes available.
Laugh and Draw with Jefferson Machamer (1946 hardcover with dust jacket), written and drawn by Jefferson Machamer, is an excellent how-to-cartoon book featuring an abundance of attractive women who have a striking resemblance to Lucille Ball. Not every cartoonist can draw women. Clearly, Machamer is not one of them! Born in 1900, Thomas Jefferson Machamer's drawings of beautiful girls made him a staple in the industry. His comic strip Patty the Playful/Petting Patty, was syndicated by King Features in 1928. Probably best known for his famous Gags and Girls strips and Nifties comics, Laugh and Draw with Jefferson Machamer gives the writer/artist a chance to convey his drawing techniques and sense of humor to the reader. He gives pointers on everything from tools of the trade, the use of match stick models, and drawing kids to anatomy and more.

1st printing. Written by Disney's storybook artists. Step-by-Step art by Pablo Mendoza. The easy-to-follow instructions in this book guide you through the drawing process; each step builds upon the last until the character is complete. You just need to grab a pencil, a piece of paper, and your copy of Learn to Draw Disney•Pixar Onward; then flip to the character you want to draw. Lightly draw the basic shapes shown in step one, and move on to step two, step three, and keep going! The new lines in each step are shown in blue, so you know exactly what to draw. After adding all the details in each step, darken the lines you want to keep and erase the rest. Finally, add color to your drawing with felt-tip markers, colored pencils, watercolors, or acrylic paints. You can draw the characters over and over, getting better with each try! Softcover, 8 1/2-in. x 11-in., 64 pages, full color. Cover price $10.99.
