Volume 1 - 1st printing. "June 1952 to October 1952!" Collects Beware (1952 Youthful) #10-12, Phantom Witch Doctor (1952), and Night of Mystery (1953).
Youthful operated from 1949 to 1954 and only publishing about ten distinct titles. Doug Wildey was the company's lead artist, with work published in virtually all their titles. He later went on to create the 1964 animated television series Jonny Quest for Hanna-Barbera.
To add the excitement you even get a little something extra with the inclusion of Avon Comic's Phantom Witch Doctor (1952); George Harcourt (British East Africa commissioner) murders M'Basi (witch doctor) and Naba (M'Basi's daughter) to acquire their ivory cache, and rwenty-five years later, they return as phantoms to crush his son under tons of ivory.

Comic Media were a respectable publisher that produced two horror titles, Weird Terror and Horrific, and we've selected a few of these fabulous weird tales of terror issues here in this collection! The odd thing about these titles is that the publisher was convinced that faces sold comics; he insisted that every issue have some sort of a face dominating the cover, and Don Heck, his cover artist, eagerly obliged. Werewolf faces, monster faces, terrified faces -- always faces.
Go get 'em, pronto, because by 1955 Don was recruited by Stan Lee and went on to be one of the architects of what became known as "The Marvel Age of Comics" so you won't be getting any more of those fabulous covers!

The colony of zombies makes his wife kill him.

We're kind of excited already at the prospect of follow-up volumes of Fawcett strangeness.

Say what you will (and we know you will!), Charlton had lots to offer, with much of it being fairly serious and semi-adult, with a contributor line-up that boasted Ted Galindo, Dick Giordano, Wally Wood, George Evans, Lou Morales, Pete Morisi, Vic Martin, Marc Swayze, Don Heck, Bill Molno, Sid Check and Stan Campbell.
