By Steven Bingen.
In 1969 a man walked upon the moon, the Woodstock music festival was held in upstate New York, Richard Nixon was sworn in as the president of the United States, the Beatles made their last public appearance, as did, after a fashion, Judy Garland, Dwight D. Eisenhower, Boris Karloff, Joseph P. Kennedy, and Jack Kerouac, all of whom passed away that year. Something else passed away that year as well. In early July, just days before the moon landing, a low-budget exploitation movie, EasyRider, was released. Its astonishing and wholly unexpected success almost single-handedly destroyed the Hollywood studio system which had been controlling the entertainment industry for half a century. Its success would ultimately change the way movies would be made, and who made them, as well as how those movies looked and sounded, and which audiences those movies would be made for. Additionally, the films innovative techniques; including extensive location shooting, unexplained editing juxtapositions, improvised dialogue, and innovative use of popular music, would change the vocabulary and language of cinema forever.
Easy Rider: 50 Years of Looking for America will tell the story of Easy Rider on the fiftieth anniversary of its explosive release. Through published interviews, previously undiscovered archival materials, and new reflections by the participants, the whole story of Hollywoods first true counterculture movie will be revealed for the first time ever.

1st printing. By Marcy Carriker Smothers. Although Disneyland opened in 1955, its culinary history dates back to 1923 when Walt Disney first arrived in Hollywood. Eat Like Walt explores the lore of each land, beginning with Main Street, U.S.A., an homage to Walt's childhood home of Marceline, Missouri, to Tomorrowland, set in futuristic 1986, a year Disney would not live long enough to see. By 1934, four years before his first feature film would be released, Mickey Mouse had made him famous enough to have a recipe published in Better Homes & Gardens magazine. Ask fans what Walt's favorite food was and most will say, "Chili." Chili has a cult status at Disneyland. People want to eat what Walt ate, the way he ate, where he ate it. Hardcover, 11-in. x 10-in., 176 pages, full color. Cover price $35.00.

Entertaining Comics Group (EC Comics) is perhaps best-known today for lurid horror comics like Tales from the Crypt, but during its 1950s heyday, EC was also an early innovator in another genre of comics: the so-called "preachies," socially conscious stories that boldly challenged the conservatism and conformity of Eisenhower-era America. EC Comics examines a selection of these works - sensationally-titled comics such as "Hate!," "The Guilty!," and "Judgment Day!" - and explores how they grappled with the civil rights struggle, antisemitism, and other forms of prejudice in America.

Story and art by Rutu Modan.
Eddie Spaghetti gets into all kinds of delightful mischief in this early reader's instant classic. Eddie Spaghetti is just an average kid who finds himself caught up in silly, sweetly innocent adventures. In these charming stories Eddie, accompanied by his big goofy dog, goes fishing in his goldfish bowl, saws the legs off a too-high table, and takes a bath with his clothes on! The bright colors, lively drawings, and sing-songy rhymes will delight young readers as they follow along Eddie's lighthearted mischief.
Eddie Spaghetti, originally created by Israeli artist Aryeh Navon and poet Lea Golberg in the 1930s, is one of the most beloved characters in the Hebrew language. As a tribute to these renowned creators, cartoonist Rutu Modan offers her own playful take on this classic character for a new, international generation of young readers.
This is an exceptional book of high-quality comics designed specifically for children four and up.
