How to Ship to Us
This page provides instructions for how to package and ship a group of comics that you are selling to MyComicShop via our online comic book buying system. Your list of current sales and trades can be found here: My Sales & Trades
Your Shipping Invoice
Whenever you ship a group of comics to us, please print a copy of your shipping invoice (which can be found in your list of current transactions) and include it with your shipment. If you are unable to print out a copy of your transaction invoice, enclose with your comics a letter size (8-1/2 x 11) sheet with your name, address and the transaction number clearly printed on it.
Preparing Your Transaction for Shipment
- To the extent possible, organize your comics in alphanumeric order by title and issue.
- If an item is listed that is not being sent, please mark it off the invoice and write "not sent" beside it.
- If an item has a hidden defect (missing coupon or page, etc.) mark it with a Post-It-Note or write a notation on the invoice.
- Be sure the invoice shows the payment option you selected (cash or online credit). If it is not what you want, email us at wantlist@mycomicshop.com, and we will either make an immediate adjustment or cancel the transaction and allow you to resubmit it.

Packing, Mailing, & Insurance
We recommend that you insure your parcel and, if using the post office, request a confirmation of delivery. UPS automatically insures all parcels for up to $100 and provides automatic tracking and delivery confirmation upon request.
Please pack carefully to prevent damage to comics. Your comics need not be bagged and/or boarded. If properly packed, they will arrive without damage.
We've found that the following procedures ensure safe and undamaged transit:
- Pack the comics in tight groups with a plastic wrap around the group.
- Pack so that contents cannot slide or shift around.
- Place at least an inch of cushion material (foam peanuts, newspaper, bubble wrap, etc.) on all sides of the comic blocks, and especially at the box corners, so that if your box is dropped on its side or a corner, the corners of all your comics won't be bent.
Other Shipping Notes
- If your box weighs more than 20-lbs, we also recommend you use strapping tape (fiber filament tape) to band the box to prevent it from bursting open in transit. Damage or loss doesn't occur very often, but if it does, it is usually the result of the box being old, weak, or insufficiently taped and strapped.
- Large quantities of comics may be shipped in comic storage boxes, commonly referred to as "short" or "long" boxes (white corrugated double-walled boxes with lids that are designed for comic storage). Comic boxes are available at most comic book stores. If using a comic box, we recommend some dead space at each end--just add a few sheets of corrugated cardboard. However, bricking is not necessary when using this type of box as the box shape forms a single "brick." Seal the lid to box with 2-in. clear tape and reinforce with bands of strapping tape (plastic fiber). Do not tape over the box hand holds on each end as this will cause the people handling your box to lift it by the lid ends, which can result in the end tearing open. If you have extra lids, even more corner and edge protection is possible if you lid both the top AND the bottom of the box.
- If you're shipping from Canada, be aware that UPS Canada charges a "brokerage fee", which is not a tarriff or duty, but an extra fee they choose to charge that will be billed separately from the actual shipment. You will be responsible for any brokerage fees your shipments incur.
