Indicia titles is "LITTLE ORPHAN ANNIE, No. 76." Untitled Little Orphan Annie stories. The police and mob boss Nick Gatt use their own ways to try to find the mysterious Axel and keep him from harming Annie; Gatt's methods are more brutal--and more effective. Buck shoots Gregory as the shopkeeper tries to take Annie into a back room where Axel's men are waiting. Annie finds out that Axel and his followers plan to take over the country. While Nick Gatt is trying to figure out a way to stop Axel, Byron Bolo is working on a plan to eliminate Gatt and take over his rackets. Nick Gatt brings Annie back to the Tecums, but he and Bryan Bolo are both killed in an off-panel shootout.
