This issue reprints the classic story from Amazing Spider-Man 121. "The Night Gwen Stacy Died" Part 1 of 2. Script by Gerry Conway. Pencils by Gil Kane. Inks by John Romita and Tony Mortellaro (backgrounds). Cover by John Romita. One of the greatest Spider-Man stories of all-time! Peter Parker returns from Canada to find his world on fire! His roommate Harry Osborn has overdosed again, and Norman Osborn (aka the Green Goblin) is blaming Peter for his son's relapse. To get revenge against the web-slinger, the goblin kidnaps Gwen Stacy and takes her to the top of the Brooklyn Bridge. So then and there, the Amazing Spider-Man and the Green Goblin fight for the life of Gwen Stacy. But sometimes the good guys don't win. A heartbreaking ending. Death of Gwen Stacy. Cameo appearances by Mary Jane Watson, J. Jonah Jameson, and Joe Robertson. (Notes: Two pages from the original story are omitted. This issue was the first reprinting of ASM 121.) 32 pages. In this issue: "A Man Named Satan" with art by Bernie Krigstein - Emilio's sculptures don't sell. Frustrated, he calls to Satan for help and his next sculpture, a demon, comes to life. Plus: "The Black Cat" - Farnum is cruel to Charles. When Satan crosses their path, Farnum learns Charles is superstitious and thinks black cats are harbingers of death. Farnum brings the cat home to torment Charles, but Charles eventually seals up Farnum and Satan within Farnum's vault. Also: "I Saw To-morrow" with art by Ed Winiarski - Bal meets an inventor whose crystal ball accurately depicts the future. And: "Juggernaut" with art by Bill Everett - Ages ago, Xoldis creates a device which can alter gravitation. Issue also includes 2-page text story "Tight Spot," reprinted from Lawbreakers Always Lose!
