Ernest. United's anthology featured reprints of early comic strips, plus an original superhero, Spark Man, whose identity was a secret even from the readers. United Features was better known as a comic-strip syndicate; Spark Man was a rare United character original to comic books. The readers get a list of the three men who might be Spark Man. When Val Hall's fancy costume party is robbed by a Spark Man impostor, the real Spark Man shows up to stop him, causing identity confusion. Sinister fifth columnist Dr. Dryden kidnaps Miss Mason to his cemetery hideout, and Spark Man follows. Danny Dingle and Dilbury try to be chivalrous, but that backfires in a big way.
