The long-running sci-fi serial (originally serialized in the pages of Japan's NewType magazine) continues! Sopp, Suezhou and Atropos are saved by Braford, but the "Water of Life" falls into Barrow's hands only to have the opposite effect, melting him like a Wicked Witch! Now that Sopp is safe, an all-out Mortar Headd war ensues, escalating into a buster-launcher quick-draw contest. Schaft and Paltenon win the day for the AKD, but Schaft succumbs to Bosjathfort's sorcery! Sopp returns to Delta Belun with a Dragon Drop for Lachesis. The scene then shifts two millennia into the future to the abandonment and demolition of the Floating Temple, as Atropos once again laments her and her sisters' fates; then she and Suezhou head off into the horizon.
