Ma Madespo and her three sons have escaped the lunatic asylum and declared war on the city, unless The Owl can stop them. Clyde Beatty takes his captured enemy Slay along, as they escape the spider-god tribe and head to the mysterious mountain. Ellery Queen investigates the murder of a gangster, but he doesn't think it's a mob hit. The gorilla cover is pretty bizarre, even for a gorilla cover.
