During the 1940s, military hero Don Winslow was the star of a comic strip, a movie serial and a popular radio show in addition to this Fawcett comic. During WWII, Don matches wits with his old foe The American, an Axis agent educated in the US. Don gets some downtime during the war, in a story that includes an image of him water-skiing behind a battleship while avoiding enemy fire. Boxer Flatbush Foley returns, seeking to manage his own career, but he lacks the brain power. Plus a vintage Tootsie Roll ad, Captain Tootsie Traps Killer Bear with Invisible Light, with art by Shazam co-creator CC Beck, and a hair-cream ad featuring detective Sam Spade. The Return of the American!; Shipwreck Jones and Seaweed Sam: Singing Seamen; Don Winslow Takes It Easy; Don Winslows Crossword Puzzle; Warriors of the Sea: Sturdee's Revenge; Bell Bottom Bill; Foul Fisticuffs. 32 pages, Full Color. Cover price $0.10.
